Taco Bake

Here's another recipe that we really like. It comes from the Kraft Foods website. Tonight, I've made it using deer meat, thanks to a friend of Ed's at work. He killed a deer and gave it to us for the processing cost.

Taco Bake

1 pkg. mac & cheese
1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. taco seasoning
3/4 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
1 cup salsa

Prepare the mac & cheese as directed on the package. While that's cooking, brown the ground beef, drain, add the taco seasoning, and cook as directed on the package.

When the mac & cheese is ready, stir the sour cream into it and mix well. Spoon half the mac & cheese mixture into a greased 8" baking dish. Spread the taco meat on top of that, then the cheddar, and add the remaining mac & cheese. Cover and cook at 400 degrees for 15 min. Then, top with the salsa and more cheese and bake uncovered until the cheese is melted.

We serve it with tortilla chips.
